Galgorm Catering & Hygiene Supplies is a large distributor with a 50-year history working in the Hospitality, Catering, Hygiene and Healthcare trades.
We are a local, family-owned business, with headquarters in Ballymena, plus depot in South of Ireland, and are seeking talented people to help us continue to grow our business as one of Ireland’s market leading catering equipment supply companies.
As an Apprentice Engineer you will learn to diagnose, service and repair a wide range of commercial catering equipment found in our customers hotels, bars and restaurants and either repair onsite or at our workshop in Ballymena, with the assistance of our experienced team and our suppliers.

This apprenticeship opportunity would see successful candidates’ complete level 2 & 3 engineering (or level 2 & 3 refrigeration/ air conditioning qualifications), whilst gaining on the job experience throughout the working week also.
Working in tandem with local regional colleges, we foresee the successful candidates being based at college 2 days per week for first year, with 3 days work experience/development. As you progress through 2nd and 3rd years, we will work with you to choose relevant modules for completion of your qualification.
For successful completion we can then offer further training/ career progression in providing industry recognised Gas and/or Refrigeration qualifications to work specifically on catering equipment for our customers throughout the country.
We will also talk to candidates who have completed level 2 qualification at college and wish to pursue a career as a catering equipment engineer through ongoing training/study.
We offer fulltime, permanent position/s based on a Monday to Friday working week.
Qualified Engineers can expect to earn £30k plus per year.
There are also opportunities for additional earnings, outside of apprentice rate.
College courses/ apprenticeships begin in September 2026 and we would wish to have successful candidate/s confirmed prior to end of August 2026 via interview process.
